Rafael Nadal

Since I haven't posted in so long you might think I'm still fixated on Feliciano. Nope! I've been totally into Rafael Nadal since I guess officially June of 2008. Just a quick and very overdue update!

It's Been Way Too Long

I haven't posted here in ages. Life has been nuts. I plan to work on an actual post and have it up by the end of the week. If there's anyone out there reading this blog, stay tuned. I'll be back.

Missing the Good Old Days

When television commercials were about candy bars, soda pop, breakfast cereal, and dishwashing liquid.

Watching TV is supposed to be fun, an escape from real life problems, and what are they trying to sell us in commercials these days? Insurance, from car to life to identity theft. And drugs, drugs, and more drugs. A man can't get through the day anymore without being reminded to obsess about whether he's peeing too much or too little.

Glad I'm a woman. No one cares how much I pee. Not yet anyway.

Fixated on Feliciano

I guess it's long overdue that I update this blog and mention that a couple months ago my tennis fixation expanded from just Roger Federer to now include Feliciano Lopez. I guess when it comes to falling for gorgeous men in tennis, two is better than one.

You can read more about how this all transpired at my new blog focused just on tennis - Game Set Thud!

I'm Not an Accountant from Afghanistan

I was just viewing my own profile and noticed that it had me as an Accountant in Afghanistan. I'm not. I'm a homemaker in the U.S.A. Could it be it's been like that all this time and I never realized it? I guess everything defaults to the first choice on the lists if you don't get around to correcting it. Yikes!

It's What's Inside That Counts

Whenever I read Israel's latest offer being prepared to hand over to the enemy everything that matters — homes, schools, synagogues, life, dignity, and a Land so known only because of thousands of years of Jewish history there, and everything is on the table except the Western Wall, I begin to see that just maybe every mistake Israel makes is made because the barrier to the Holy is held more sacred than the Holy Itself.

Love Game

Back in August hubby and I were watching a lot of tennis and found it to be a good distraction from all our troubles. I especially found Roger Federer distracting. Well, after stressing through the US Open in September, and then spending more and more time over at the forum at www.rogerfederer.com enjoying the hundreds of pages of yummy Rogi pics, I've come to realize that what started out as a minor distraction has blossomed into a full blown fascination. Now all I can do, other than collect pictures while waiting for the next televised tennis tournament, is wonder why I didn't start paying more attention to him sooner. Oh yes, I remember now, because I was busy getting myself all upset listening to talk radio and worrying about the mess the world is in. Being fixated on Federer is far more fun.

Excommunicated

Hubby says I'm excommunicated from Red Sox Nation because I think A-Rod is cute. When I gave him the pouty lip, hubby said, "I don't make the rules. I just know they're there."

Taken For Granted

I just finished watching "Simply Delicioso" with Ingrid Hoffman on the Food Network, and I've got to say, finish buttoning your blouse! I'm starting to think I'm not the target audience of this network. Between Giada with her cleavage showing so much of the time lately, and now Ingrid, I feel like the network's biggest priority is getting more male viewers, and considering the way they're going about it, I guess they figure cleavage is the easiest way to accomplish that goal. But what about us women? I'm beginning to feel like I'm being taken for granted. When are the men going to start leaving their shirts half unbuttoned? Hmm? When?

Making Lemonade - Lotto Man

On Sunday morning I went to the convenience store on the corner for a carton of orange juice. Okay, it was actually to see Cute Arab Guy, but I did need orange juice. I just could have gotten it a lot cheaper at the supermarket. But Cute Arab Guy is worth it:) Anyway, while I was there a man was in line buying some lottery tickets. I wished him luck, and on my way out he held the door open for me to show his appreciation. What a sweetie!

But seriously, ever since we became carless, and hubby's been under the weather, I've been going out walking to take care of any shopping or other errands that need to be done, and I keep having these exciting adventures! I used to stay in the apartment and rarely go out. If I'd only known all the fun I was missing!

Always So Simple

So the Evil forces of the world want to destroy Israel and kill all the Jews. As it says in Ecclesiastes, there's nothing new under the sun. Why has that been the goal of the Evil forces throughout history? Because the true goal of the Evil forces is to kill G-d. And they know that if they destroy Israel and kill all the Jews, the Bible would be proven wrong, and the G-d of the Bible would cease to exist. The Evil forces would have what they want — Chaos. A world where Evil is called Good, and Good is called Evil, where Darkness is called Light, and Light is called Darkness, where Death is worshipped, and Life is trampled upon, where criminals are rewarded, and the law-abiding are punished, where extinction is encouraged, and survival is politically incorrect.

Hell is upon us even now.

G-d, have mercy and answer us, though we may not deserve it, please save us!

Moving Party

Since hubby's having a tough time getting up and down the stairs to our apartment due to his health situation, my mom suggested we ask the manager if we can switch to an apartment on the first floor. The first question I had was, who will help us move? Hubby isn't able to lift and carry like he used to. Mom might have made a great suggestion, but she's not up to moving furniture either. And then a light bulb went on in my head. Cute Arab Guy could help us move! He's young and strong and fit! And then I thought, A-Rod would be perfect! They don't get much stronger and fitter than A-Rod. And then I thought, how about my favorite tennis player, Roger Federer! And then my imagination moved to football. Tom Brady! My second favorite quarterback! Then of course I'd have to invite my first favorite, Peyton Manning! And I'd just have to invite my favorite singer, Patrizio Buanne, although with him I'd be very tempted to find a cozy corner where he could serenade me, or teach me how to make pizza, while everyone else is doing the work. Whoohoo! This is going to be some kind of fantastic moving party!

The Impossible Made Easy

How do you convince the world that Judea is an Arab homeland?

Start calling it "the West Bank."

Hooked on the Food Network

I discovered the Food Network back at the end of February and I was hooked. I was looking around for some good Sunday morning programming and found Rachael Ray preparing "Cod in a Sack." Next thing I knew I was watching several hours a day and trying out different EVOO's from our local supermarket.

I enjoyed "the Next Food Network Star." Well, until the second to last episode when my favorite, JAG, left the competition. My other favorite, Paul, had left the prior week. Between Amy and Rory at the end, I'm glad Amy won. She did so well in the competition's version of "Iron Chef" that by then it seemed she deserved to win.

Now I have two new hermit crabs. One named EVOO Red, and the other named Plummy.

I must admit I'm not happy with the new Food Network schedule. My favorite, Michael Chiarello, has been moved to very early Sunday morning, so I miss him. Same with Dave Lieberman. Maybe the next time they change things around it'll be better.

Recently in the Valley of the Shadow

I discovered the Food Network.

I discovered that Patrizio and Pinot Noir are a match made in heaven.

I discovered there are things I don't like about the brand of Judaism I belong to.

I discovered a beyond gorgeous Arab guy working at the convenience store on the corner.

I discovered my husband has a serious heart condition.

I discovered I love him more than I ever knew.
